Great addition to SPHINX demonstrators list!
We are glad to report that SalvaTerra has been added as demonstrator within the SPHINX project framework.
Partner Etway(ETW) is responsible for the project Noise Barrier demonstrator (together with Fraunhofer-ISE). In 2024, ETW developed a new vertical PV element: SalvaTerra, an innovative vertical photovoltaic planter. It combines two bifacial PV modules with a freestanding Corten steel base designed to host vegatation such as flowers, shrubs, or smaller plants. This multifunctional structure generates clean energy and enhances the aestetics of outdoor environments. SalvaTerra includes a pre-wired electrical system for quick and easy installation, and it’s non-fixed design allows for flexible relocation and reuse. As a green-based solar solution, it offers a more elegant and efficient alternative to traditional PV systems, contributing to greener cities and broader community support for renewables.
SalvaTerra offers a higher range of applications, improves public acceptance, and amplifies the overall impact of the project. In addition, it perfectly contributes to the EU vision of a sustainable energy transition.
After alignment with the EC Funding Agency, the addition to the SalvaTerra (alongside with the planned noise barriers) as SPHINX demonstrator has been approved!
We look forward to report the first project results on this.
